Santa Cruz is on the northern edge of the Monterey Bay, across the Santa Cruz Mountains from San Jose. Our driving directions include the fast way, the scenic way, and a link for a shuttle from Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) ($40) or San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ($50).This is about a 40-minute or 1-hour drive, respectively, so a cab will be very expensive. Note that, unlike other shuttle services, you need to make a reservation well in advance; we recommend that you do so at the time you reserve your airline ticket. Oakland Airport (OAK) is about the same distance from Santa Cruz as SFO, but there is no regular shuttle; however, if you would like to come into OAK and arrange a carpool with people coming from U. C. Berkeley to Santa Cruz, leave a comment below.
The Santa Cruz Metro bus system is very useful for getting around town. From a stop near the Coast Hotel, the #19 bus will take you to the part of campus where our meeting will take place (“Science Hill”) in one direction, and to downtown Santa Cruz in the other. We will be running our own shuttle from the Coast to the meeting site on campus — stay tuned for details.
7th RHESSI Workshop, Santa Cruz, June 26-29 
It looks like most flights or connections from Europe arrive to San Francisco quite late in the evening (typically, around 7 or 8 pm, for instance I will arrive at 18:45 on Sunday). The last shuttle from SFO airport to Santa Cruz leaves at 8pm. I wonder if it were possible to organize an additional shuttle from SFO after the last one, if, say, we were to find 5 or 6 people interested…

Hi, everyone:
I will be arriving at San Jose (SJC) airport at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 24 on United 182 from Denver, and I have rented a “midsize SUV” that seats 5 (leaving 3 extra seats). I will be leaving Santa Cruz on Friday afternoon. There may be shuttles from SFO or OAK to SJC that would allow folks to rendezvous with me at SJC on the 24th.
